Q:How can I receive the Certificate of Eligibility (COE)?

A:J Kokusai Gakuin is a school that receives authorization from The Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education. So there is no need to worry about applying for COE with our school.

Q:If I got the Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates, can I apply?

A:The students who receive Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates have same level of education as High school. So it’s possible to apply.

Q:If I can’t speak Japanese well, can I apply by myself?

A:There’re staffs who can speak Korean, Chinese and English at school so student can ask for more information and can do applying process in other language beside Japanese.

Q:Which financial supporter documents are required??

A:Financial Supporter is the person who will take care of all expenses while student resides in Japan. Both of your parents may be financial supporter together. Required qualification are, stable income, possible to show working certification,(business owner can use copy of company register document), financial statement from bank (approximately 30,000,000 yen). And immigration may ask for other documents such as tax payment, identification, proof of relation with applicant document.

Q: If I came to Japan many times with temporary visa, can I apply?

A:It’s up to the reason and how frequently you come to Japan. Please ask staff for more information.

Q:If I study in short-term course and continue to regular course, can I change visa in Japan?

A:If the result of COE comes out while student resides in Japan and finish all of enroll process, student can change visa in Japan. But, there’re some conditions, please ask staff for more information.

Q:When can I apply for university in Japan?

AApply dates are different in each university. Most of private university open in end of September, national university open in February. After apply, student has to take entrance exam, if pass, they can study in April semester.

Q:What is different between Examination for Japanese University (EJU) and Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)?

A:EJU is used to evaluate whether international students who wish to study at the undergraduate level at universities or other such higher educational institutions in Japan possess the Japanese language skills and the basic academic abilities needed to study at those institutions. The examination will hold 2 times per year in June and November.
JLPT is used to evaluate Japanese level for foreigner, have 5 levels from N1 to N5. The examination will hold 2 times per year in September and December on the first Sunday. The student who passed N1 or N2 can enter university or vocational school.

Q:What are the requirements for applying in university in Japan?

A:Student has to finish 12 years of education or finish high school or above and pass JLPT at least level N2.

Q:Can I do part-time job in Japan? And what kind of job I can do?

A:Student can do part-time job but “Permission to Engage in Activity other than that Permitted Under the Status of Residence” is required. Student can apply this permission after staying in Japan for 3 months. If granted, student can do part-time job 4 hours per day. Most of students work at super market, convenience store and restaurant. Some of works which not appropriate are prohibits.

Q: How can I find a place to live?

A:School has prepared many dormitories near school for students. It would be hard for student who doesn’t have any relative or friend in Japan to find a place to live. So school dormitory should be convenient in the first place, and when student gets use to with life in Japan and can speak better Japanese, students can find a place to live by themselves. School will help when signing contract but in some case guarantor is needed.

Q:What should I do if I get sick or injure in Japan?

A:We have cooperated clinic called “Kokusai Tougenkai Clinic”. Students can examine at this clinic with special prize. And we also help health check 1 times/year.

Q:Can I use internet?

A:Student can use internet at school from Monday to Saturday at 9.00-18.00.

Q:Besides Japanese, can I learn any other subject?

A:School provides Nursing care course and Business Japanese. For the students who want to enter university, we have English, Math class. And we also have field trip so student can learn culture of Japan.
